The cherry of my heart

I recently had a baby and my pickle cravings stopped pretty much as soon as I got pregnant. Unlike most pregnant people, I actually stopped craving pickles and started craving chocolate!  I was petrified because my identity is either my love for pickles and all things sour or my curly hair.

Until I got pregnant, I thought I was going to open a pickle store or maybe get a truck and pickle anything and sell it at OTG! I had dreams darn-it!

Its been coming on 8 months since our son Zavier was born and FINALLY I'm getting my admiration of pickles back! Slowly, but surely...

It started with bread and butter pickles which I really never liked before, in fact, I never considered sweet pickles, pickles.. Or tasty even.  But there it was, they had just enough amount of sour mixed with sweet and I could handle that.

Then I was able to graduate to my own homemade "quick" pickles which I was able to modify, more sweet, less sour, upping the sour to sweet ratio. I did that again and again upping the sour or vinegar, to the water, sugar, and salt ratios batch after batch.  Baby steps... And now!  Now, I know I'm recovered! I have developed an obsession for.....
First of all, they aren't sweet, they're quite sour. The "Sweet" simply means that they aren't hot. They are wonderful paired with flatbread sandwiches or stuffed with goat cheese or as I enjoy them simply out of the jar, one right after another until the jar contains nothing but the brine.

Thank you Mezzetta for making these delicious peppers!
I'm Cured!
